At LICA Wear, contributing to our community is part of the brand's DNA. When ORAKI contacted us to participate in their project in collaboration with the Direction de la protection de la jeunesse (DPJ), we said yes without hesitation.

The ORAKI project: meeting a concrete need

ORAKI is a Quebec organization that provides essential clothing and accessories to young people aged 0 to 21 monitored by the DPJ. These young people have a limited annual budget for clothing, which makes it difficult to access enough underwear and basic clothing.

ORAKI's initiative aims to fill this gap by distributing essentials directly to the young beneficiaries, without them having to dip into their already restricted budget. For some of them, receiving quality clothing represents much more than simple physical comfort: it is also a gesture of recognition and dignity.

LICA Wear's contribution

When ORAKI approached us, we chose to contribute with what we do best: comfortable and high-quality seamless underwear.

In total, we donated 189 pieces from our collection, including seamless panties and accessories, carefully selected to meet the needs of the young beneficiaries.

Some of these items came from our excess stock or had minor defects that prevented them from being sold. Instead of discarding them, we chose to give them a second useful life. This is a concrete way to reduce our environmental impact while contributing to a cause close to our hearts.

A solidarity loop

What makes this project particularly touching is that items not chosen by the young beneficiaries are then redistributed to women in need at Notre-Dame Hospital. No item is lost, and each one ends up helping someone who needs it.

This cascade approach perfectly illustrates what we believe at LICA Wear: small, well-directed actions can create a real and lasting impact.

How you can contribute

If this project resonates with you, you can participate by donating clothes, including items with minor defects or surplus stock. To learn more about how to get involved, visit the Fondation des jeunes de la DPJ website.
